Mr. Barksdale is responsible for strategic and financial planning for the firm. He founded the firm in 1984.

Prior to founding Weaver C. Barksdale & Associates, Inc. (WCB), Mr. Barksdale was President, Director of Fixed Income strategy, and Chief Portfolio Manager for Commerce Union Bank (now a part of Bank of America) in Nashville. He has been in the industry since 1971. He received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
